The Custosphinga is a towering, regal feline-like creature standing approximately fifteen feet tall at the shoulder. Its sleek grey fur ripples with every movement, while vibrant feathers decorate its body in varied patterns. The most striking plumage forms a headdress around its head, giving the creature an appearance of majesty and divine authority.
 

Custosphingas are creatures of immense pride and purpose, bred or born to guard sacred places, protected routes and sites of magical importance. Their glowing eyes are capable of revealing truths concealed from ordinary sight.

Captive-bred Custosphingas are trained to see through illusions and magical deception, exposing a being’s true physical form. This allows them to identify hidden racial traits, such as concealed wings, scales or horns, and makes them valuable as gatekeepers and perimeter sentinels. 

Wild Custosphingas possess a related but more spiritual form of perception. Rather than revealing physical disguises, they perceive the essential nature of a soul and can discern whether an individual is good, neutral or evil.
