Angahaki
The Angahaki is a small but highly specialised mollusc-like creature found near freshwater streams, rivers, and marshy landscapes. Roughly the size of a clementine, it possesses a spiral shell on its back that grows with it from birth, providing a sturdy, natural defence against predators. Its soft, slimy body extends from the shell, supported by two front legs tipped with adhesive pads that allow it to cling to wet, slippery surfaces.
The most distinctive feature of the Angahaki is its elongated, extendable neck, which can stretch several times the length of its body. This adaptation allows it to hunt efficiently, striking at unsuspecting prey—typically insects, small amphibians, and aquatic larvae—without leaving the safety of its shell or position. Its long, flexible antennae help it detect vibrations in the water, while its beady, red compound eyes are finely tuned to track movement even in low-light conditions.
Auraleth Wanehollow
The Auraleth Wanehollow is a spectral creature formed from a spiritual lattice rather than biological tissue. Its skinless form appears skeletal, yet glows with soft, fading warmth from within. Its wings, delicate and torn like ancient paper, flutter silently, leaving behind shimmering motes that drift toward sorrow.
Where the bones of its ribcage should connect, luminous organs pulse like flickering memories—each beat a thread of someone else's forgotten grief. Its eyes do not shine, but drink light; its presence is always followed by butterflies, which seem to drift toward it like lost prayers.
The tail trails into a frayed coil of shadow, unravelling slightly as it moves and reforming in stillness. Despite its haunted appearance, the Wanehollow exudes no threat—only quiet.
Avesbil
The Avesibil is a massive, mysterious bird of prey known for its extraordinary ability to become completely invisible, except during sunrise and sunset, when the golden light refracts against its feathers, revealing its true form. Roughly the size of a condor, the Avesibil boasts an impressive wingspan of up to 20 feet, making it one of the largest flying predators in the sky.
These birds are solitary hunters, using their natural invisibility to ambush large mammals such as deer, elk, or even smaller livestock. Despite their lone hunting habits, Avesibil are incredibly strong, capable of carrying up to ten times their own weight, allowing them to transport heavy prey back to their colonies.
While wild Avesibil are rarely seen by common folk, many have been tamed by witches and trained to transport carriages and riders between distant cities. In exchange for their service, they are provided with steady meals, making them a reliable—albeit eerie—form of magical transportation.
Caelusthorn Aetherhart
The Caelusthorn is a radiant, antlered quadruped with a dark, sleek body that trails glowing vapours with each step. Its wings—diaphanous and pale blue—catch starlight even in overcast skies, and its mane and tail seem to blur at the edges, creating a visual shimmer in moonlight. Tiny butterflies are almost always seen nearby, following in lazy spirals.
Its glowing antlers are not bony but composed of a fibrous mineral lattice, laced with phosphorescent minerals absorbed from its diet of rare alpine moss and dew-fed lichens.
Custophinga
The Custosphinga is a towering, regal feline-like creature, standing 15 feet tall at the shoulder, with sleek, grey fur that ripples with its every movement. Its most striking feature is the vibrant plumage of feathers that adorns its body, especially the headdress-like feathers on its head that evoke a sense of majesty and divine authority.
Custosphingas are creatures of immense pride and purpose. They are bred or born to protect sacred locations, paths, or magical sites. Their piercing, glowing eyes serve as tools of truth, capable of perceiving the hidden nature of beings. While their captive-bred counterparts see through illusions and deceptions to reveal a person’s true form, their wild kin perceive the essence of the soul, discerning whether someone is good, neutral, or evil.
Drearback Seether
The Drearback Seether is a powerful, semi-aquatic predator that resembles an amalgam of deep-sea fish and heavily muscled land carnivore. Its flesh is coated in a slick, translucent dermal layer beneath which thick blue-black musculature pulses visibly. The face is dominated by sensory tendrils and multiple rows of interlocking teeth, adapted for both tearing and preventing prey escape.
Its legs are built for short bursts of terrifying speed, with webbed, hook-taloned feet ideal for sprinting through muddy flats or launching from the shallows. Twin dorsal fins and a thick, sinuous tail provide surprising underwater agility, allowing it to lunge from below with terrifying precision.

Florumbra Threnedeer
The Florumbra Threnedeer is a hauntingly elegant soul-creature, its obsidian fur streaked with veins of molten glow that pulse with slow, radiant heat. From its back and ribcage bloom luminous spirit-flowers—petals shaped from memory, sorrow, and reverence. These blooms emerge in response to those it passes, representing lost loved ones, untold goodbyes, or forgotten names. No two Threnedeer look alike.
Its antlers, gnarled and barklike, are often mistaken for dead branches, but they bend ever so slightly toward nearby grief, sensing pain the way trees sense storms. The tail tapers into vapor, trailing threads of old voices in the air behind it—inaudible to most, but unmistakably present.
The creature’s gaze is never direct. Its eyes, ember-bright, peer through you, as if watching the past fall like dust from your shoulders.

Glimmerwyrm
The Glimmerwyrm is a rare and enchanting creature, a blend of celestial dragon and fey being. Its wings are gossamer-thin, resembling the delicate patterns of dragonfly wings, and its branching antlers radiate soft golden light. Its luminous golden eyes burn with ancient wisdom and curiosity, resembling miniature suns.
These creatures are lightweight and agile, rarely growing larger than a domestic cat. Despite their diminutive size, Glimmerwyrms exude an aura of mystique, captivating all who gaze upon them.
Glowcrest Falcon
The Glowcrest Falcon is a common bird species known for its striking, iridescent feathers that shimmer in shades of green, gold, and violet. Its name derives from the faint bioluminescent sheen of its crest feathers, which glow softly during twilight and dawn, making it a mesmerizing sight in rocky, rugged terrains.
This bird is small yet agile, standing about 2 feet tall with a wingspan of approximately 5 feet. Its glowing plumage serves as both a mating display and a means of territorial communication. The falcon’s sharp purple eyes are adapted for exceptional vision in dim lighting, making it an efficient hunter during early mornings and evenings.
While visually stunning, the Glowcrest Falcon is a relatively harmless creature, feeding primarily on small mammals, insects, and occasionally scavenging. Its ability to blend into rocky environments with its shimmering feathers also serves as an effective camouflage against predators.
Glowflit Bramblekin
The Glowflit Bramblekin is a small, agile quadruped with an impressive coat of branching, fibrous fur that emits a soft bioluminescent glow. Its coloration ranges from violet to electric blue to pink, depending on ambient temperature, stress levels, and chemical intake from its diet. The long, branching tendrils along its tail and spine serve as both sensory tools and display structures, flexing or dimming in complex patterns during interaction.
Its eyes are large and extremely light-sensitive, optimized for navigating complete darkness. Despite its alien look, the Bramblekin is a natural part of Ryvalia’s more chemically active ecosystems—regions where spore-blooms, radiated soil, or ancient war-scarred landscapes have altered the biosphere.
Gorthak Colossar
The Gorthak Colossar is a massive, hulking quadruped whose bulk is covered in dense, matte-black fur and overlapping armored plates of keratin along its spine, shoulders, and skull. Two thick, spiraled horns jut forward from its cranium, heavily scarred and grooved from territorial clashes. Beneath those, a second set of blade-like lateral horns sweep outward—used more for display and intimidation than combat.
Its yellow eyes are set deep beneath a heavy brow ridge and are capable of detecting movement at extreme distances, even in low light. Its tail is long, prehensile, and ringed with ridged muscle bands—used to whip, balance, and clear obstacles during charging attacks.
Despite its hellish appearance, the Gorthak is fully biological—no magic required to explain its monstrous power.
Gravetender Olamar
The Gravetender Olamar is a towering, withered entity composed of charred bark, exposed bone, and hollow shadow. Its spine arcs like a collapsed archway, and its limbs resemble roots more than limbs, clawed into the ground as if holding it in place. Its skull is deer-like, bleached and cracked, with black sap bleeding from its eye sockets.
Sprouting from its back and legs are thin branches, some blooming with faint, glowing flowers, others bearing lantern-butterflies—tiny motes of soullight that flutter around it endlessly. When it moves, it's like watching a tree uproot itself from centuries of stillness—slow, deliberate, and with gravity.
A single ever-burning lantern floats beside it, always glowing. The fire within it is not flame—it is remembrance. The Olamar lights this lantern for every soul whose memory is being forgotten. It carries many lights.
Ironmaw Gravehound
The Ironmaw Gravehound is a massive, wolflike quadruped with pale, scar-pocked hide and jagged black bone structures protruding from its back and skull. Its skeletal mask isn’t natural bone, but calcified plating formed from repeated trauma and regrowth—a biological response that eventually created a nearly unbreakable, exoskeletal helm.
The creature's body shows clear signs of past binding—remnants of ancient restraints and ritual piercings remain embedded in its forelimbs and neck, suggesting long-term domestication or weaponization, now broken.
Though it appears diseased or undead from a distance, the Gravehound is very much alive. Its vitality is monstrous. Muscles ripple under tight flesh, and its eyes—if one ever sees them—are small, golden, and blisteringly aware.

Lucenkit
The Lucenkit is a tender guardian of light, a spirit-creature whose fur is soft as memory and whose wings shimmer like captured starlight beneath glass. Ivy and pale blossoms bloom gently from its body—not parasitic, but part of its essence, as though it were a creature grown rather than born.
Its large, milky eyes do not focus on physical things, but seem to peer into the emotional aura of the world around it. When Lucenkits gather, they do not mewl or chirp—they hum in harmony with the ambient soulflow, a frequency most mortals can only feel in dreams.
Glowing butterflies orbit each Lucenkit as if drawn by instinct. These are lightwings—small manifestations of fond or unresolved memory. They never stray far, and are said to return to their creators once the Lucenkit’s work is done.
Lunareth Coralnymph
The Lunareth Coralnymph is a semi-aquatic reptiloid known for its opalescent skin and translucent fin structures. Its body is lithe and flexible, adorned with sensory gems—biogenic nodules of calcium and organic silica used to detect pressure shifts, current patterns, and subtle chemical changes in the surrounding water. These nodules glow faintly in response to movement and emotion, giving the creature an almost mythical aura in low-light reefscapes.
Its most distinctive feature is its tail, which coils into a tight spiral when resting or engaged in non-threatening interaction. When swimming, this tail acts like a rudder and propulsion fin in tandem, granting the Coralnymph exceptional agility among reefs and debris fields.
Its face is smooth and lacks visible nostrils; respiration occurs through concealed gill slits along the lower neck.
Mawroot Vargheir
The Mawroot Vargheir is a grotesque hybrid of decaying lupine anatomy and invasive arborial growth. Its skeletal structure is partially exposed, with wood and vine replacing tendon and organ, threaded through exposed ribcages and cracked bone. The maw is locked open in a permanent expression of rage, lined with irregular teeth—some bone, some jagged root-ivory.
Its body leaks sap-dark ichor where muscles have long since rotted away. Fungal blooms, blood-thorns, and red-petaled parasites flower from deep within its ruined cavities, fed by old blood and ambient lifeforce. Every step it takes seeps blight into the ground, rooting rot in its wake.
Its eyes—burning pits of orange fury—are not real organs but glowing phloem clusters, signaling an active parasitic consciousness within.
Molguff
The Molguff appears as a bloated mound of tangled wool and decay-stained fur, crowned by two small, keratinous horns. Beneath its dense coat lies a warped musculature shaped by slow, ponderous movement and excessive insulation. Its face—hidden beneath layers of damp fiber—reveals a mask of chitin and flesh, wide-eyed and unsettling, constantly oozing from natural fermentation glands.
It exhales slow, wet breath, releasing a faint, musty scent not unlike moldy parchment or soured milk. Its paws are wide and clawed but meant for slow digging, not combat. Despite its monstrous appearance, the Molguff is not aggressive unless provoked or cornered. It spends most of its time lying still, soaking in rotheat and nutrients through its fur and body folds.
Mornhollow Puffmouse
The Mornhollow Puffmouse is a small, dense-furred creature known for its remarkable fluff, which serves as both insulation and camouflage. Its large, forward-facing eyes suggest a crepuscular lifestyle, allowing it to navigate low-light conditions with ease. Its ears are semi-translucent and colored with iridescent pigmentations—likely used for passive signaling or mating displays. The tail, long and reptilian in appearance, ends in thin tactile tendrils used to detect air shifts and scent trails.
Though it appears comical or endearing, the Puffmouse is a remarkably adapted survivor.
Nerathune
The Nerathune glides rather than walks, paws only lightly pressing the surface of reality. Its body gleams like glass bathed in starlight, shifting from opalescent white to deep ocean-blue, with trailing leaflike fins that shimmer with soulflow. Small pastel flowers and curling ivy unfurl along its sides, and bright butterflies drift eternally in its presence—creatures born from its emotional resonance.
Its pale eyes have no pupils, but glimmer like dew under moonlight, and its breath smells faintly of petrichor and memory. It does not speak, but those in its presence often find their thoughts quieting, old traumas softening, and long-forgotten dreams resurfacing.
Noctalyra Cervidrix
The Noctalyra is a rare, majestic quadruped marked by its long, spiraled antlers and velvet-white fur, so fine it shimmers in moonlight like mist. Two expansive, oil-dark wings extend from its shoulders—baroque and veined like butterfly wings, yet durable enough for swift gliding and lift. Its eyes are a piercing crimson, adapted for low-light perception and fine detail at twilight.
Trailing floral growths and wingbuds cling to its joints and mane, often blooming subtly depending on the season. The creature is surrounded almost constantly by small lepidopteran companions—moths, butterflies, and other gliders—which are drawn to it by an unknown hormonal secretion, forming a living shroud of flickering color in its presence.
Papervore Marrowling
The Papervore Marrowling is a skeletal construct of impossible anatomy—its wing membranes are tattered yet seemingly weightless, patterned like moths but more akin to torn parchment stained with blood. Its body is built from exposed bone and sinew, held in place by silk-fine cords of hardened ligament. Its skull retains a feline or vulpine shape, deceptively gentle compared to the rest of its ruined frame. But those red pinprick eyes burn with intelligence and hunger.
Despite its appearance, this creature is not undead. It is unliving—a being born from necrotic evolution and alchemical imprinting. It does not rot. It does not age. It simply flies and feeds.

Sylpharid Veilstrider

Its head is sleek and finned, with no external eyes visible. Instead, a series of electroreceptive nodes trace the ridges of its skull, allowing it to perceive bioelectric fields, movement vibrations, and faint atmospheric changes. It doesn’t "see" in the traditional sense but maps the world through sensation.
Twin filaments trail from the sides of its snout—extremely sensitive to chemical shifts in the air and water, helping it locate prey, predators, and mates over long distances.
Umbrathel - The Hollowroot Seer
The Umbrathel is a rare and barely understood organism believed to be a remnant consciousness grown into flesh—an amalgam of decayed proto-flesh, parasite-rooted flora, and a once-humanoid nervous system preserved within a bark-encased shell. It stands hunched, not out of weakness, but as a holdover from a time when bipedal motion was still unstable, evolving. Its upper body shows exposed skin—pale and marbled with vascular rot—but the limbs and head have been entirely overtaken by creeping vines, fungal rootlets, and sensory mosses.
Veins of bioluminescence pulse faintly through its lower limbs, and pale eyes—some grown along its body like sprouted cysts—open only in the presence of sound or unnatural movement.
Its presence warps the environment subtly: roots twist toward it, light bends through hanging leaves, and creatures fall unnaturally silent nearby.
Velasylph Dreamhowl
The Velasylph is a winged, foxlike guardian being with an elegant frame, soft silver-white fur, and cloud-woven wings streaked with galaxy tones—blues, violets, fading reds, and starburst flares that ripple as it moves. It does not walk in the traditional sense—its steps leave no marks, and its paws touch down like starlight on still water.
The mane and tail are constantly shifting with flecks of color and soft echoes of forgotten skies—twilight reflections, memory fragments, lullabies long lost. It is always surrounded by soft light motes, butterflies, or drifting symbols from the dreams of others.
Verdelkit
The Verdelkit is a small, quadrupedal mammaloid with coarse, leaf-like fur ranging from deep green to mossy teal. Its pelage is fibrous and semi-rigid, acting both as camouflage and water-retention insulation. The ears are leathery and upright, while the eyes are large and low-reflective—ideal for shadow-rich environments. A prehensile, spined tail covered in leafy protrusions assists with balance and light climbing, though the Verdelkit spends most of its time on the forest floor or among low-hanging foliage.
Despite its feline features, it is more closely related to burrow-gnawers than to true predators.

Virelyn the Lighthorn
Virelyn is a rare and venerated spirit-beast of the Soul Realm, regarded as a sacred guide to wandering souls and lost memories. Its body blends the noble shape of a deer and the graceful frame of a moth-winged wyvern, crowned with pale antlers like weathered ivory. Vines of pale blossoms twine through its limbs, binding small soul-lanterns and ephemeral lightwings to its form.
Wherever Virelyn walks, the air fills with calm—not silence, but a stillness that suggests listening. Its wings carry a faint music when they move, like wind through crystal chimes. It does not speak. It remembers for those who cannot.
A single, ornate soul-lantern dangles from its antlers or tail, glowing with a steady flame that represents a soul in stasis—neither lost nor at rest.
